WHAT TO BRING TO SUMMER CAMP

MANDATORY ITEMS

  • Medical forms: Signed by Physician

  • Signed Rifle Consent – if needed

  • Merit Badge Prerequisite forms.  Required if you are planning to complete any merit badges you started before coming to Camp.

  • Notebook, paper, pens

  • Stationery, stamps

  • Spending money, about $60


CLOTHING ITEMS

  • Scout Uniform (Class A)

  • Scout shirt and shorts or long pants, neckerchief (required at evening meal and colors)

  • Handkerchiefs

  • Pajamas

  • Sweater or jacket (it can get cool)

  • Hat or visor

  • Jeans

  • Shirts (3 min.)

  • Shorts (2 pair min.)

  • Hiking boots with proper socks (2 pairs)

  • Tennis shoes with proper socks

  • Swim suit (wear on the way up! To be ready for swim test) and beach towel

  • Rain poncho (just-in-case)

  • 6 Pairs of Socks

  • Underwear for 6 days.
     

TOILET KIT

  • Medication, if needed.

  • Soap & Shampoo

  • Toothpaste & Toothbrush

  • Bath Towels/washcloth

  • Emergency toilet paper

  • Deodorant

  • Shaving gear (if needed)

  • Comb & small mirror

  • Sunscreen

  • Lip balm.

  • Personal first aid kit


CAMP NECESSITIES

  • Compass

  • Pocket knife & Totin’ Chip

  • Flashlight/batteries/bulb

  • Canteen or water bottle

  • Clothesline/clothespins

  • 10 Essentials


VERY IMPORTANT

  • Scout Handbook (w/ name and address inside)

  • Sack Lunch (Sunday)

  • Clock/watch

  • O/A Sash

  • Camera/film

  • Water shoes for rafting

  • Field Glasses

  • Fishing tackle

 

CAMPING GEAR

  • Sleeping bag or 3 blankets

  • Duffel bag or Pack

  • Sleeping pad, pillow

  • Ground cloth (for overnight)

  • If taking Lifesaving, Swimming or Canoeing Merit Badge bring extra clothes for “survival while in the water” -long pants, long-sleeve shirt, socks, shoes.


 

Label ALL clothing and other items brought to Camp with name and Troop number.

Items Scouts are Prohibited from bringing into camp:

Firearms, Radio’s, Illegal substances, Ammunition, TV’s, Alcohol, Fireworks, Tape Recorders, Footlockers, Large Knives, Matches, Jewelry, Sheath Knives, Pornography, Gang Paraphernalia, Switchblades, Comic Books, Pagers, Cell Phones (will not work in camp).
