TROOP 801 TRIP PLAN
Note: This copy is to be left with an
adult who is NOT going on the trip.
Activity Whitewater
rafting and camping trip. Note: This trip is limited to Scouts 14 years old
by the trip date. Scouts also will need
to have passed their Swimming and/or Lifesaving Merit badge, First Aid merit
badge and be in good physical condition since you will be an active participant.
Description This
trip will include Class 3-4 whitewater rafting on the

time in the late afternoon/early evening (we’ll call with specific time as we
travel on Monday).

Uniform Class C for around camp
Equipment 10 essentials, water bottles/daypack for hiking,
fishing gear and license if needed. Sandals or old tennis shoes
for rafting. Each rafter has the
option of renting a wet suit either locally or at the put in site. Approximate
rental cost is about $10 at the put in site.
Bring a towel and extra clothes to change in to after rafting. Sunscreen and UV blocking sunglasses are a
must due to the glare off the water. Bring
clothing that can be worn in layers for the evening as the temperature may
vary.
Money to Bring $5-10 cash for Monday fast food lunch. Bring a sack
lunch for Saturday.
Trip
Costs GAS: ($5) Gas money is due May 14th to cover fuel
costs. Please enclose the gas money in an envelope marked with the Scout or
non-driver Scouter’s name. Cash only is preferred for ease of
disbursement to the drivers. Mrs. Sarkan will coordinate this effort.
RAFTING:
($60) A $30 deposit is due Monday, April 2rd to reserve your spot. The remainder is due Monday, May 14th.
CAMPING
FEES: ($18) The private campground is 15 minutes from
the rafting site. Amenities include
volleyball, showers and swimming pool.
